Snapchat has introduced a new Platinum subscription tier under Snapchat+. The plan allows users to avoid ads on the platform. It removes Sponsored Snaps, Story ads and Lens ads for $15.99 per month. This is a significant increase from the standard Snapchat+ subscription, which costs $2.99 per month.
According to Snapchat, “The Platinum Monthly Plan for Snapchat+ lets you enjoy Snapchat+ with no Sponsored Snaps, and no Story or Lens ads!”
The update is now live on both the App Store and Google Play Store. It builds on the growing demand for paid social experiences by offering a more premium version of the app.
Jonah Manzano shared a screenshot of the new plan in a Threads post. According to the screenshot, the Platinum Monthly Plan is positioned above existing Snapchat+ tiers.

Snap says the Platinum Monthly Plan unlocks more than 40 exclusive features. These include ad-free Stories and Lenses, as well as full access to Lens+, which introduces GenAI-powered Lenses not available to free users.
Will Snapchat+ Platinum remove all ads?
While Snapchat+ Platinum removes most in-app ads, the company notes that subscribers may still see ads in sponsored placements and My AI responses.
How to subscribe to Snapchat+ Platinum
Snapchat users can subscribe to the Platinum plan directly within the app by following these steps:
- Go to their profile.
- Tap on the Snapchat+ banner at the top.
- Select the Platinum Monthly Plan.
- Restart the app if needed to access Snapchat+ features.
Snapchat+ Platinum follows Meta’s ad-free model
Snapchat’s move comes after Meta introduced an ad-free subscription in Europe in 2023 to comply with GDPR. Meta’s model, however, has faced legal scrutiny, with EU advisory groups arguing that it undermines privacy protections.
While Snapchat’s ad-free model is not tied to any legal requirement, it offers an alternative for users who prefer an ad-free experience.
The launch of Platinum marks another step toward building a revenue stream that doesn't rely entirely on advertising. The platform runs one of the most successful social media subscription models. Snapchat claims over 12 million users have subscribed to Snapchat+. According to the company’s Q3 2024 results, it also added 1 million new users to this tier in just two months.
Snapchat’s growing base of paid subscribers puts it ahead of X and Facebook in verification-based services. However, Snap still trails behind larger subscription models such as YouTube Premium and LinkedIn Premium.
