At a recent summit, ElevenLabs announced a partnership with Sir Michael Caine, the British actor and cultural icon. His voice is now available on the ElevenReader app and the newly launched Iconic Marketplace.
According to ElevenLabs, the Iconic Marketplace is a curated platform where companies can request access to iconic voices for projects and content. The platform currently features more than 25 other well-known voices, including Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, Dr. Maya Angelou, Alan Turing, Liza Minnelli, and Art Garfunkel.
Sir Michael Caine told ElevenLabs, “For years, I’ve lent my voice to stories that moved people, tales of courage, wit, and the human spirit. Now I’m helping others find theirs. With ElevenLabs, we can preserve and share voices, not just mine, but anyone’s.” He added that the company is “using innovation not to replace humanity, but to celebrate it,” emphasizing that the technology amplifies voices rather than replacing them.
Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey has also joined ElevenLabs, the company announced. The deal will allow his voice to be used in Spanish audio for content and newsletters. McConaughey has invested in the New York-based startup and says he has maintained a relationship with the company for several years.

How the Iconic Marketplace works
The Iconic Marketplace is designed as a two-sided platform. Companies can request access to high-profile voices for projects, while performers retain control over how their voices are used. This approach follows what the entertainment industry has called for, giving creators access to recognizable voices while allowing talent to set terms for their use.
Why this matters for advertisers and marketers
For brands, content creators, and marketers, access to iconic voices can expand creative options. Companies could produce campaigns, audiobooks, or multilingual content using voices already familiar to audiences.
This development highlights the growing role of AI in media production, particularly for multilingual content and storytelling projects. Marketers considering voice-based campaigns now have new ways to reach audiences while retaining recognizable audio branding.
