Reddit launches ‘Dynamic Product Ads’ to all advertisers
The new ad format shows personalized products based on Reddit activity and shopping behavior

Get Smarter at Marketing
Reddit has launched its Dynamic Product Ads (DPA) to all advertisers. This new feature introduces a more automated and personalized way to promote products across the platform’s high-intent communities.
Reddit began testing the tool with select partners last year. Now, it is opening up the format to all advertisers, offering tools to deliver relevant product ads at the right moment.
According to Reddit, Dynamic Product Ads will be available through the Reddit Ads Manager. With DPAs, advertisers can now serve catalog-based ads to users across Reddit based on behavioral signals from both on and off the platform.

These ads are designed to automatically match a product from a brand’s catalog with subreddit conversations that users are actively engaging in. For example, if a user is reading threads in a skincare subreddit, they could be shown a product from a beauty brand’s catalog that fits the context of the conversation.
How Dynamic Product Ads work on Reddit
Reddit’s Dynamic Product Ads are powered by a mix of contextual and behavioral signals. The platform says it uses machine learning to assess on-platform activity—such as the communities users join and the posts they engage with—as well as off-platform signals, such as site visits and previous product interactions.
When a user enters a relevant subreddit or thread, Reddit automatically pulls product images, prices, and descriptions from the advertiser’s catalog to generate personalized ads. These are displayed in formats like single-image posts or carousels. Everything updates in real-time, so the ads reflect live inventory and promotions.
Reddit’s DPAs are not limited to context-based targeting. They also support retargeting, which means advertisers can reach users who previously viewed or clicked on their product pages—similar to how performance ads work on Meta or Google.
Smartly integration adds cross-channel campaign control
Reddit is also testing a new integration with Smartly, a multi-channel ad platform that helps brands run campaigns across multiple social and digital environments. With this integration, advertisers can manage Reddit’s Dynamic Product Ads from within Smartly’s dashboard.
The integration is still in beta, but the goal is to streamline how advertisers plan, create, and measure Reddit ads.
