PayPal has introduced new features that allow users to “shop and pay with PayPal anywhere, anytime – both in stores and online.” Alex Chriss, President and CEO of PayPal, said, "It's a pivotal moment for PayPal and its customers and a significant first step as we bring the power of PayPal to everywhere they shop.”
The new updates include customizable 5% cash-back rewards, an auto-reload option, and integration with Apple Wallet.
PayPal’s cash-back rewards
PayPal offers customizable cash-back rewards on specific spending categories. Users with a PayPal Debit MasterCard can choose one spending category monthly and when they buy things in that category, they can earn 5% cashback on the money they spend, up to a total of $1,000 for that month.
Users can also save a special deal from brands in the PayPal app. They can earn an extra 10% cashback when they pay with PayPal, making 15% cashback.
PayPal’s new auto-reload feature
PayPal’s auto-reload option allows users to maintain a specific minimum balance in their account without manually adding funds. The auto-reload feature tops users’ balance when it falls below a chosen amount.
PayPal’s integration with Apple Wallet
PayPal will also allow customers to add their PayPal Debit Card to Apple Wallet, enabling payments via Apple Pay. The company claims this integration provides more ways for customers to use their PayPal balances in-store and online.
