Google plans to expand its Discover feed to desktop search. Google first released the feature on mobile in 2018 and began testing the desktop version in 2023. Now, some logged-in users have already started seeing the Discover feed directly on their desktop Google homepage.Â
Clara Soteras Acosta and Gianluca Fiorelli announced the update on X, following Google’s Search Central Live event in Madrid. While this isn’t a full launch, it shows that Google is testing the feature.
Google’s Discover feed is a feature that displays personalized content, including news, articles, and topic-based content that aligns with users’ interests. It’s the scrollable feed of recommended content based on users' recent search activity, their interests, and the kind of news they tend to follow.Â
